TESTIMONIALS

Written by current and former co-op families

C4 for has been a great experience for our family this year.  Last year as I was planning out [daughter's] freshman year, I was overwhelmed by the thought of meeting the demands of high school curriculum/work load.   I had been praying about what co-op or outsourcing options to assist us in meeting those demands.  We debated enrolling with an accredited program to have access to tutors/teachers to help with the harder subjects, but knew that wasn't what had worked best for our family in the past.  I wanted to have her in a Catholic environment in order to grow in our faith, so the usual drop off co-op choices were not my favorite option.  When it was announced that C4 would be opening for the 2017-18 school year and had the core classes that we needed, I truly felt it was an answer to our prayers.

[Daughter] has grown so much as a student this year, both in her academic skills and in her faith.  I have seen her grow in confidence in subjects that she didn't have before.  She has learned so much from her amazing tutors this year and has greatly benefited from their knowledge and willingness to help whenever she was unsure of a concept or an assignment.  She is excited to continue with C4 next year for her sophomore year.  I am excited to also be enrolling my seventh grader for the upcoming school year!

To anyone on the fence about enrolling in C4, I cannot recommend it enough!

I’ve had two students take classes from Stephanie Reisinger.  Her literature classes are a blessing for our homeschool! There’s no way I can keep up with all the high school reading and felt I’d be missing something such as key points or ‘fine literary nuances’.  My teens have enjoyed the literature selections and I feel completely at ease because Mrs Reisinger scrutinizes the selections to make sure they are age-level appropriate and not pushing liberal/worldly agendas. She goes the ‘extra-mile’ in communicating with parents about possible sensitive passages in the book.  I feel Literature is a great class to take at a C4 because it allows the students the chance to discuss certain themes and ideas in a small group setting - a group that is Catholic. Especially as the topics become more “adult” it’s so important to have someone with a strong Catholic moral compass guiding the discussion.

I’ve greatly appreciated her writing tutoring for my children.  It’s hard to take criticism about an essay or report from your mom.  No more tears or hurt ego! Mrs. Reisinger has given my children lots for guided instruction on how to improve their writing and is extremely responsive to email communication.  I’m so glad to have her instructing my kids! I would highly recommend her as a teacher!

My daughter loves her math teacher!!!! Mrs. Hansen has been an amazing teacher! She’s thorough, precise and excellent at explaining concepts! My daughter has learned so much this year and felt like she could easily approach Mrs Hansen with any questions or concerns. Having extra sessions/office hours on Thursdays has been great! Often my daughter didn’t “check-in” but it was really nice to have that option in case they were working on a more difficult concept. Mrs Hansen is quick to reply with any questions or concerns and out-sourcing math has saved me from “mommy guilt” for not being able to find time to go over math work with my daughter! I would highly recommend her as a math teacher!

The C4 co-op has been such a blessing for our family. My son enjoyed his Spanish class the most. He had previously done some Spanish through an online course, and having the in-person tutor for this class made a huge difference! I believe that having the opportunity to actually speak and interact with his tutor and other students was a great benefit to his learning the language.  I cannot say enough good things about his Biology course. Not only was this a high-school credit worthy lab course, but his tutor made every effort to work with the students to present using various learning styles and techniques for studying that I know will a benefit to him as he studies for his other courses in the future. Having an English tutor was a great benefit to ME! He had grown as far as he could grow with his mom grading his essays. He needed that extra push from a new set of eyes to help his writing to grow to the next level. I'm pleased that the SAT prep course allowed for him to prepare more for those tests without ANY nagging from me! Our family is so thankful to have a Catholic academic co-op so close to home and we will be continuing with C4 as our younger children enter their middle school years.
